Verification and Validation, White Box Testing and Black Box Testing

Good Day everyone! This is the another topic discussion from the report based on sequence of discussion. And I am going to give my insights about the Verification and Validation, White Box Testing and Black Box Testing from the group no.1 presented by Mark Anthony Macarayo, Jenefer Morales, and Jomar John Asilo.

Verification is the verifying process includes checking documents, design, code and program. Validation is a dynamic mechanism of software testing and validates the actual product. And verification takes place first and validation occurs after verification and mainly involves the checking of the overall product.

   Black Box Testing
is a tester doesn’t have any information about the internal working of the software system. It is a high level of testing that focuses on the behavior of the software and it’s involves testing from an external or end-user perspective. Black Box Testing has its own life cycle called Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) which has four phases, Requirement, Test Planning & Analysis, Design and Test Execution.

White Box Testing is a testing technique which checks the internal functioning of the system. It is also called glass box, transparent box, clear box or code base testing.

What are mention above are very relevant and important for our thesis(Capstone), for example in the Verification and Validation. Our Capstone Project needs to have a SMS notification and, verification processes are involved because it needs to verify the user to secure information to prevent future threats that might happen and encounter. And the same time the Validation, our system provides validation module for the user that serves as our assurance that the user is reliable and the information being submitted is true, which is being verified first by the admin of the system. And for me, the most effective user testing must be Black Box Testing because it opens for more exploration by the user which is important to really understand and check the functionality of the system without being instructed.
The presenters are good, because I understand the topic well because they give a lot of examples and they answer the thrower question at them, and the delivery of the topic was understandable and I thank them for giving me their resources.

Thank you everyone for reading. God Bless!!
